Jin Woo Lee

Biography

Jin Woo Lee is an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Culture Technology (GSCT) of KAIST, where he focuses on developing machines that bridge the physical and digital worlds to enrich musical creativity. He has been working on music technology, physics-based computer simulation, and acoustic transducer design, at KAIST Musical Acoustics and Transducer Instrument Engineering Laboratory. Prior to the current position, he was a postdoctoral associate at the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) of MIT and a member of Laboratory for Audio, Music, and Acoustics at MIT Music Technology. He received Ph.D. in Intelligence and Information from Seoul National University (SNU) in 2024, following his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in 2019. As an engineer, he has actively collaborated with artists across various fields, including museum curators, instrument makers, and musicians.
